By KenWu

April, 1st is perhaps one of the days that most people enjoy most. This is the day where you are given total permission to make a fool out of your buddies and friends. No one is going to be mad of you for doing this. If they want to blame, blame it to the person that started this joke but I bet that he or she could hardly find out who the person was.

With the advancement of technology and the world wide web, pranks are not just limited to physical 'joke damage ' that you do to the person sitting next to you. Giant company like Google also joined in the fun and made lots of fools throughout the world.

Featuring here are some of the jokes that has happen recently. Hope you enjoy them.

iPhone Pregnancy Test

Have you downloaded any free or paid applications from iPhone? If you haven't, perhaps you must give this one a try. It is called iPeed and this application made its debut on April 1st and which, the creator claims that this app could give pregnancy test results as accurate as any test kit that you can get from the pharmacy. The app costs US2.99 per download, but the best thing about this, id it comes with unlimited testing. You can use it for testing as long as you do not uninstall it from your iPhone. By the way, it is also very creative in displaying the results of the test; you will get an image of a cute little baby if tested positive and a martini if the result is negative.

.... I wonder how can anyone get a pregnancy test with an iPhone.....

Inflatable Computer

Toshiba is very innovative too. It has successfully created the world's first inflatable laptop, called the TubeTop. It is the first laptop in the world that could provide you with true mobility and flexibility with the ability to stay connected on the internet everywhere, even in the bathtub (but it never mentioned that it is 100% water proof) . The inflatable inner tube is available in five color, namely; Lobster Red, Oregano, Lil’ Boy Blue, Mother of Pearl, The Original Haystack Yellow. To activate the laptop you must give it a command by pressing control + alternate and typing the letters P-U-M-P. It will then inflate in seconds!

Ferret Broadband Technician

An online English daily publisher has reported a story about the use of ferret in laying cables for broadband services. Ferrets are used due to its sleek body and its ability to crawl through tight spaces. It also mentioned that these tech-savvy animals were given high tech jackets to wear, which each is fitted with a microchip that can analyze breaks or damages in the underground network.

If ferret can do the job, I think we would be losing a lot of work next round. More news here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/7541455/Ferrets-key-to-bridging-the-digital-divide-between-cities-and-rural-areas.html

Google vs Topeka?

This is one of the very popular pranks that run by Google (google has contributing a lot to April Fool ). Google would change its name from Google to Topeka on April 1st. This one was done because the town of Topeka in Kansas, Unites States changes its name to Google for the whole month of March so that Google would consider Topeka as part of its experimental ultra-high-speed broadband project. Google changed its name on this day to honor moving gesture and it even suggested the usage of the new term: "Before our blind date, I Topeka'ed him".

I remembered reading about the iPhone Pregnancy Test and wondered about how it works. Glad I came across this hub, or I would probably make a fool of myself talking about a pregnancy test on the iPhone. :)
